Contrary to standard belief, your article doesn’t need to be ABOUT the keywords you target. Instead you should spend about 15-25 percent of your time creating articles OUTSIDE of your principle target market. This article marketing tactic can really help reach new traffic and possible buyers. This is best demonstrated with a live example.

Text: This is the space where you write your article with your keywords embedded. That gives me the time freedom to explore a lot and my absolute number 1 hike with kids is…

This article has a solid chance of ranking for the long keyword in the title “Best Hiking Trails in Portland”. Remember this is going to be distributed to hundreds of blogs and article directories, so one of those many versions should get picked up for an exact phrase match.
The clever part is that you can submit this sort of article to blogs outside of the home business, MLM or network marketing leads category because that’s not what the article is written about. In this example we could send this article to a “Recreation” or “Outdoors”category tapping into a whole new market.
All the while, this article and the hyperlinks embedded in it provide “link juice” in the form of a backlink for the primary keyword terms.
Now you should never run out of a subject to write about because you can write about just about anything that other people are searching for. You simply have to be smart in working the keywords into your text. On a side note, if you are doing article marketing for other industries, you should really consider article marketing for MLM. You get superior leverage out of teaching others to do what you are doing anyway. My 2 cents.
